READING SIDEWALL MARKINGS – Metric
In this case, the image above highlights the metric tire size of a tire.
Most tires will indicate the size on the sidewall in the following order:
Tire Width - 215 mm in this example
Aspect Ratio/Sidewall Height - 60 in this example
Rim Diameter - 16” in this example

Also known as High-Flotation / Wide Base / Numeric Sizing
As highlighted in the image above, standard tires will indicate the standard tire size. The tire size markings on the sidewall are as follows:
Overall Diameter Height in Inches - 35” in this example
Section Width in Inches - 12.5” or 1250 in this example
Rim Diameter in Inches - 17” in this example
